A Day of Care, A Day of Volunteering

It was a day of care and volunteering at the Divisional Day of Care Project for the homeless at Sir William Grant Park on December 3, 2011 where we donated clothing to the homeless and those in need. What a great way to kick start the season of giving and sharing.

Scores of persons came out to the one day project from parts of Downtown, Kingston and St.Andrew which included the young, the young at the heart and the elderly, many of whom were homeless and in need of clothing, food and medical assistance.

It was a pleasure to be among one of the many non-profit organizations who assisted our time and efforts to those in need as we worked ferociously to donate clothes to a thick crowd of homeless persons, many of whom were men. It was a long and hectic day at Sir William Grant Park, Downtown, Kingston but it was indeed a full-filling one.

BIG THANKS to the Kiwanis Club of Eastern Kingston and Port Royal who came on board for this project and to the team from the Boys Brigade and CVSS for organizing a project which was such a success.  Great job guys! Unity is STRENGTH!

Here We Come Longville Park!

The Kiwanis Club of Old Harbour shared some valuable moments with the the Kiwanis Club of Longville Park at their recent LG Visit where it was well-enjoyed. It was an evening of food, laughter and brain-teasing!

The turn-out was good and the meeting itself was good, where LG Beulah topped it off with her short but spicy address to the club about the Division's objectives for the administrative year 2011/2012.

Some of the objectives addressed were:-
  1. Mentoring our Children
  2. Addressing the important issues our children are faced with on a daily basis.
  3. Getting more involved as a club and as a family into our children's lives
We enjoyed the meeting greatly and met some new friends and family of the Kiwanis Club of Longville Park; inter-clubbing is never a moment wasted, its always one of great value and appreciation.

See you soon Kiwanis Club of Longville Park and the Kiwanis Club of Old Harbour just might be at your next meeting, look out for us :)

Its only the beginning!
